The lighthouse Rubjerg Knude (build in 1900) is situated in a shifting sand dune and not active since 1968. The sand dune developed since 1910 has a height of 90-100 m and is changing quickly. Some buildings were used as a museum but had to be closed in 2002 and are now destroyed by the pressure of sand.
